Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and under the able guidance of
Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the fifth day of the 7-Day Faculty Development Programme on
“Indian Knowledge Systems” was successfully organized on May 29, 2026 by the IQAC of
Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana. The session was conducted in online
mode, and the link for the online session was shared through various social media platforms to
facilitate the participation of faculty members and academicians. The resource person for the
day was Dr. Tapan Kumar Sahu, Principal, S.D. College of Education, Barnala. The topic of the
session was “Technological Advancements and Innovations with Reference to Indian
Knowledge Systems and Sustainable Development.” During his lecture, Dr. Sahu explained that
Indian Knowledge Systems refer to the intellectual and philosophical traditions of India which
possess a rich heritage dating back to ancient times. He also explained that Indian Knowledge
Systems strongly emphasize environmental consciousness and sustainable development through
harmonious living with nature, conservation of resources and eco-friendly practices. He
highlighted the contribution of Indian Knowledge Systems in various fields such as Ayurveda,
Yoga, Sustainable Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics, Linguistics, Arthashastra,
Astronomy, Space Science and Educational Technology. The resource person emphasized that
the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems with modern technology can help teachers
promote innovation, sustainability, ethical values and holistic learning among students. The
session proved to be highly informative and intellectually enriching for the participants and
enhanced their understanding of the relevance of Indian traditional wisdom in present-day
technological and educational contexts. The online stage proceedings of the session were
