Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and under the able guidance of
Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the fourth day of the 7-Day Faculty Development Programme on
“Indian Knowledge Systems” was successfully organized on May 28, 2026 by the IQAC of
Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd. The session was conducted in online mode and the
link for the online session was shared through various social media platforms to facilitate the
participation of faculty members and academicians. The resource person for the day was Dr.
Nand Kishor Chaudhary, Professor of Education in Central University of Haryana. During his
lecture on “Bhartiya Gyan Parampara,” Dr. Chaudhary explained that Indian Knowledge
Tradition is deeply rooted in the concepts of Vidya, Darshan, Shruti, Smriti and Panchkosh,
which focus on the holistic development of an individual. He emphasized that the Indian
Knowledge Tradition promotes harmony of Manas, Buddhi, Chitta and Ahankaar and guides
teachers towards value-based, ethical and spiritually enriched education. He elaborated upon the
characteristics and major dimensions of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara and discussed different forms
of knowledge including Pravidhya and the place of Parasthanam. He also explained the concept
of Anubandh Chatushtaya, Tantra Yukti, the four Vedas and Antahkaran. The session proved to
be highly informative and enriching for the participants and enhanced their understanding of the
relevance of Indian philosophical traditions in contemporary education. The online stage
proceedings of the session were efficiently conducted by Prof. Ashish Kumar.
