Day 2 of FDP was successfully conducted on Indian Knowledge Systems at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd

 

Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the second day of the 7-Day Faculty Development Programme on Indian Knowledge Systems was successfully organized on May 26, 2026 by the IQAC of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd. The session was conducted in online mode and the link for the online session was shared through various social media platforms to facilitate the participation of faculty members and academicians. The resource person for the day was Dr. Barinder Kaur, Former Head, Department of Education, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda. The session commenced with a formal welcome of the resource person by IQAC Coordinator Prof. Roopa Kaur Rai, who warmly welcomed the guest and highlighted her academic achievements and rich contribution in the field of Education and research. During her insightful lecture, Dr. Barinder Kaur elaborated upon the significance of the Indian Knowledge System and emphasized that teachers should actively disseminate the values, wisdom and cultural heritage embedded in Indian traditions among students. She discussed various divisions of the Indian Knowledge System along with its philosophical foundations and core principles. The resource person also highlighted the importance of integrating Indian Knowledge System into Teacher Education Curriculum to promote holistic and value-based education. Furthermore, she shed light on the major challenges in integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into teacher education and suggested several strategic interventions for its effective implementation in educational institutions. The lecture proved to be highly informative and thought-provoking for all the participants. An interactive query session was also conducted at the end of the lecture where participants enthusiastically interacted with the resource person and clarified their queries. The session concluded with words of gratitude for the valuable insights shared by the resource person.
