Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the IQAC of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized a One Week Faculty Development Programme on Indian Knowledge Systems from May 25, 2026 to May 31, 2026. The inaugural session of the Faculty Development Programme was held on May 25, 2026. Prof. (Dr.) Harjodh Singh, Former Head, Punjabi Department and Former Chairperson, Bhai Veer Singh Chair, Punjabi University, Patiala graced the occasion as the keynote resource person. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting followed by the soulful rendition of Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Ehe, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur warmly welcomed the distinguished resource person with a sapling as a token of respect. During his enlightening lecture, Prof. (Dr.) Harjodh Singh emphasized that teachers should inculcate the values of Sikhism among students by drawing inspiration from the teachings and lives of the Gurus, thereby guiding them towards moral living, humanity, humility, compassion, discipline and selfless service. He highlighted the teachings, philosophy, bravery and supreme sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He also discussed the remarkable sacrifices made by mothers in Sikh history and shed light on the martyrdom and spiritual legacy of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He also shared valuable insights into the literary and spiritual contributions of Bhai Veer Singh Ji and his role in Punjabi literature and Sikh thoughts. While discussing Bhagat Kabir Ji, he highlighted the universal message of truth, devotion and equality reflected in his writings. Prof. Harjodh Singh further explained the historical and literary significance of Zafarnama written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, describing it as a symbol of truth, courage and righteousness. His thought-provoking lecture inspired the faculty members to reconnect with Indias rich spiritual, cultural and ethical heritage. As a mark of honour and gratitude, memento was presented to the resource person. The stage proceedings and formal vote of thanks were efficiently conducted by Dr. Inderjit Kaur. The programme was organized under the coordination of IQAC Coordinator Prof. Roopa Kaur Rai. The resource person also donated books from his own publications to the college library, thereby enriching its academic and literary resources. The programme proved to be highly informative and inspirational as it highlighted the enduring relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems in nurturing ethical values, cultural awareness and holistic education in modern society.
