Educational Trip organized by Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd

Post Graduate Department of Punjabi and Punjabi Sahit Sabha jointly
organized an educational trip to Shri Tarantaran Sahib, Gurudwara
Jhoolne Mahal Sahib and Harike Pattan on April 10, 2026 dedicated to
the Festival of Baisakhi and celebration of Birth anniversary of Shri
Guru Arjun Dev Ji. The purpose of the trip was to connect students with
Sikh history and highlight the significance of Gurbani. This tour also
provided an opportunity for experiential learning as the holy Bani of
Guru Arjun Dev Ji is a part of the syllabus prescribed by Panjab
University, Chandigarh. The place visited during the trip is also a
background for the short story ' Dharti Hethla Bald' taught to BA1 as
Gurudwara Manji Sahib known for being the site of earnest devotion
offered by Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Gurudwara Jhoolne Mahal Sahib is
situated at Thhathhi Khara village mentioned in the story. The historical
place is also renowned for housing a wall which swings and gives a
divine experience to the sangat. Principal, Dr. Satinder Kaur praised the
efforts of Dr. Inderjit Kaur and Dr. Balwinder Kaur, the incharges of the
trip for this endeavour connecting students to Sikh history, heritage
and culture. 40 students participated in this educational tour.
