Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, a renowned institution run under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, successfully organized a guest lecture on blood donation under the NSS Special Camp, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club. The session was graced by the esteemed speaker, Dr. Roohi Deol from Deol Hospital, Mullanpur. College Principal, Dr. Satinder Kaur, formally welcomed the guest by presenting a green sapling as a token of respect and appreciation. During the session, Dr. Roohi Deol elaborated on the health benefits, myths and facts related to blood donation, inspiring students to become responsible contributors to society. She highlighted how voluntary blood donation can save countless lives and encouraged students to actively participate in such noble causes. She clarified various misconceptions and reassured the volunteers about the safety and simplicity of the blood donation process. She pointed up how voluntary blood donation plays a crucial role in meeting the constant demand for blood in hospitals. As a mark of gratitude, a memento was presented to the guest speaker. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Red Ribbon Club Incharges, Prof. Hardeep Kaur and Prof. Gurjeet Singh. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the speaker, organizers, and participants for making the event a success. Around 70 NSS volunteers actively participated in the lecture, making the session highly engaging and impactful.
