Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd Students‘ Educational Excursion to Rajasthan


Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust, Sidhwan Khurd and the able guidance of the Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, a group of 98 students from Khalsa College for Women,Sidhwan Khurd recently embarked on a 4-day educational trip to Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from March 20-23, 2026. The trip aimed to provide students with a unique opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Rajasthan. The group visited iconic landmarks, including the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They also visited the beautiful Lake Gadisar, a man-made lake built in the 14th century. Highlights also include camping in Sam Desert, thrilling camel rides across sand dunes witnessing breathtaking sunset views. In Jodhpur, the group visited the Mehrangarh Fort, one of India's largest and most well-preserved forts which boasts an impressive collection of palaces, galleries, and museums. They also explored the serene beauty of Kaylan Lake where they enjoyed boating and Zip- line rides. Students also relished a taste of local markets and did shopping for traditional handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs in Jaisalmer's bustling bazaars and Jodhpur's Clock Tower Market. The trip provided students with a firsthand experience of Rajasthan's rich history, architecture, and culture, complementing their academic curriculum. Members of Picnic & Tour Committee Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Mr. Ashwani Jain and Mr. Ashish Kumar along with faculty members Ms. Avneet Kaur and Mrs. Tirath Kaur led the trip ensuring the students' safety and providing valuable insights into the historical significance of the places visited.
