Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Units of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized an extension lecture to mark World Tuberculosis Day. The session aimed to spread awareness about tuberculosis and contemporary health challenges among youth. Renowned physician Dr. Amarpreet Singh, MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine) from Deol Hospital, Mullanpur, was the keynote speaker on the occasion. The event began with a warm welcome by Dr. Satinder Kaur, who honored the guest by presenting a sapling as a token of appreciation. During the lecture, Dr. Amarpreet Singh delivered an informative talk on tuberculosis, explaining its causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment. He emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent such diseases and encouraged students to remain health-conscious and socially responsible. In addition, he addressed pressing issues affecting today’s youth, including mobile and internet addiction, excessive screen time and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and its impacts on daily life and mental well-being. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Red Ribbon Club In-charge Prof. Hardeep Kaur and Mr. Gurjeet Singh. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Inderjit Kaur, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker and all participants for making the event successful.
