Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust Sidhwan Khurd and under
the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur the PG Department of Commerce of
Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd organized an Industrial Visit on 16th
March 2026 to Avon Cycles Ludhiana for 45 students of graduate and postgraduate
classes. It provided students with practical exposure to the manufacturing of cycle
industry. The visit proved to be an informative and inspiring experience for the
students. During the visit, the company’s technical team explained the complete
manufacturing process of bicycles and their parts. Students were shown different
sections of the industry where they observed how raw materials are transformed into
finished cycles through various stages such as frame making, welding, painting,
assembling, and quality testing. This practical demonstration helped students
understand the real industrial environment and production techniques used in large-
scale manufacturing. The Head of the HR Department interacted with the students and
delivered an insightful session on women empowerment. She encouraged the girls to
believe in their abilities and highlighted the importance of balancing personal life and
professional responsibilities. She motivated students to pursue careers with confidence
and determination. Students also learned that Avon Cycles Ltd. exports its bicycles
and parts to many countries around the world, contributing significantly to India’s
manufacturing and export sector. The company also demonstrated its commitment to
social responsibility by contributing 2% of its profits towards Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) activities, supporting community welfare and development.
Another interesting highlight of the visit was the introduction of advanced robotic
technology in the manufacturing process. The students were told about recently
imported new robotic machines that assist in production, improving efficiency and
precision. Overall, the industrial visit was a valuable learning experience that helped
students gain practical knowledge about manufacturing, technology advancements,
and corporate values, while also motivating them to prepare for future opportunities in
the industrial and professional world. Assistant Professor Mrs. Harpreet Kaur
Bhamrah and Ms. Jeewanjot Kaur accompanied the students.
